Memorial Day Weekend (Part 1)

Gretchen was playing with my nephew's bball and my parents house on Friday. Look at her palm the ball, I think she could be a natural.

We have only offered Gretchen sweets a few times and she did not like them at all. She may be changing her mind though. Here she is with a fudge pop, as you can see it is pretty messy.

We went to the Shedd today with Aunt Sara, Uncle Shawn and cousins Anna and Lauren. We had a great time and took tons of pictures.

Bows

Here she is at her favorite spot in the living room looking at books. She did have her ankles crossed and was babbling away like she was reading the book to Dumbo. I was too slow with the camera to catch the ankles though.

It looks like she is blowing a kiss actually, she is trying to eat a leaf.

Here is my baby girl wearing her bow! I have tons of cute bows for her, but she will never wear them. I put one in she smiles, claps, and then pulls the thing out. This time I had a strategy. I turned on the T.V. waited for a dog food commercial and then put it in when she was to distracted by the dogs to notice. I got a good ten minutes with a bow in before she realized what I had done.

After Church

Gretchen is trying out her new wheels.

I think she likes them.

Before Church

She is actually taking her shoes off not putting them on. She does not like wearing shoes, who does though?

She looks angelic as she practices her walking.

Here not so angelic.

Walking is very tiring.

Girl fights off thugs with marching band baton

'Moral to this story is don't mess with the marching band girls,' official says

QUARTZ HILL, Calif. - Don't mess with a marching band girl, especially one armed with a baton.
A 17-year-old high school marching band student beat up two assailants who tried to mug her as she walked to school in this high desert community about 40 miles north of Los Angeles, sheriff's officials said Tuesday.
The girl punched one of the men in the nose, kicked the other in the groin and beat both with her large baton before she ran away on Friday morning, officials said.
"The moral to this story is don't mess with the marching band girls, or you just might get what you deserve," said Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Michael Rust.
He said two men approached the girl from behind, grabbed her coat and demanded money. Deputies searched near Quartz Hill High School for the muggers, looking for a m No arrests have been made, but Rust said it appears the girl made her point to her assailants.
"Final score: Marching band 2, thugs 0," Rust quipped.

Pee-U Stinky

We taught Gretchen to plug her nose when we say “pee-u stinky.” As you can see it is pretty cute. A few days ago Gretchen was climbing the steps and I was behind her just in case. I smelled she had a dirty diaper and I said “Pee U Gretchen you are stinky.” She turned around plugged my nose and smiled. She is a funny little bird.
